Attorney Information
In exchange transactions, Investors Title Exchange Corporation
performs the core duties of a qualified intermediary,
but does not provide tax or legal advice. We encourage
all exchangers to be represented by counsel. In addition,
ITEC can support exchange counsel by providing:
Attention to Detail - ITEC maintains
close communication with counsel throughout each exchange.
We provide notification of approaching deadlines and alerts
to any "red flags" observed. For each transaction
we maintain a complete paper trail and coordinate each
step with counsel and the settlement agent.
Research - ITEC can assist counsel in
locating relevant information and resources to address
unique or particular exchange issues that may arise. Please
contact us as a resource for information, to simply discuss
an issue, or learn how we may have seen the matter addressed
in other exchanges.
Secure Funds - ITEC holds the exchanger's
funds in interest-bearing accounts in a FDIC-insured institution.
Investors Title Exchange Corporation is a subsidiary of
Investors Title Company, which has been ranked by Forbes
Magazine as one of the best 200 small companies in America
for two years in a row. Fidelity bonding and independent
auditing ensure the security of the exchanger's funds.
Document Preparation - ITEC's comprehensive
service includes preparation of our standard exchange
documents for review before closing. ITEC offers quick
turn-a-round by facsimile or overnight mail to accommodate
transactions promptly and efficiently.
Education - ITEC offers continuing education
seminars that provide in-depth discussions of exchange
issues. If you would like more information on our seminars,
please contact us.
Referrals - ITEC frequently receives
requests from exchangers who need competent legal counsel
in an exchange. If you would like to be considered for
addition to our referral list, please contact us.
Economy - ITEC offers a low, flat-rate
fee, regardless of how many properties are included in
the exchange. Please call for our current rates.
